Reasoning: Luke Littler (4.) was not really considered a favourite for the final victory by the betting agencies last year, as they gave him odds of about ~ 51.00. But this year he’s the favourite, and for good reason! The young super talent, who made it to the final already in 2024, has much improved in this season. Among other things, he won the Premier League series, Grand Slam of Darts and World Series of Darts, to mention just his biggest successes this year; but he also won several European Tour and Player Championship stops. In these, he practically beat all the big guns currently in the field, so from now on he has nothing to fear. In addition, his draw can be considered relatively favourable, because if everything goes as planned, then in the quarter-finals he would “only” need to beat Aspinall, who is recovering from wrist and knee surgeries, or Cross, whom he already defeated in last year’s World Championship, and since then even more times. After these, he is likely to face last year’s champion but perhaps less motivated this year: Humphries in the semi-final. He will obviously be very strong this year as well, but since 2024 and the final he lost last year, Littler has 8 W – 5 L against him, so the young titan can be absolutely confident in this match as well.
